The One-Third Principle

In series for Photography Tips -

The following pics are taken using the technique of 1/3. This means dividing the photograph in a grid of 3 x 3 and then keeping the subject in 1/3 part of the photograph. This 1/3 division can be either horizontal or vertical. The sample below are the verticle divide of photo showing the sun in 1/3rd portion.

The following photograph has been taken at Mehdipatanam, Hyderabad. Mehdipatanam is the starting point for the 11.6 kilometer long PV Narsimha Rao flyover connecting city to Hyderabad airport - Rajiv Gandhi International Airport. A smooth speedy ride to ariport is what it gives. Also it being on the Bangalore highway, many private tours and travels buses ply on this flyover for the Hyderabad-Bangalore route.

To enhance the view, instead of placing the subject in only single portion, I have kept it on the column of portion. This photograph is taken at Shankarpally, Ranga Reddy District. This place is the nearest fast shopping area near IBS. It is just 10km far. A village of sorts, but has wonderful business activity on every Sunday. It was also the proposed container depot which was made into ICD - Inland Container Depot. As a general knowledge (GK) about shankarpally - ICD is owned & managed by Container Corporation of India (CONCOR) and Central Warehousing Corporation (CWC)
